An Exceptional Learning Experience
Students in grades K-3 have a natural curiosity and love of learning, and we strive to build on that foundation. Allowing for both successes and challenges, we encourage exploration in learning and help students build on their unique abilities and gifts. Our developmentally appropriate activities in math, reading, writing, social studies and science engage students and continue a passion for learning. Daily devotions and chapel worship point students to Jesus and His love for them as His children. Students in grades K-3 are involved in special activities each week, including library, music, PE, art and technology.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE
Laying a Firm Foundation for Learning
Our early childhood program lays a foundation of academic and social skills on which future successes are built. Schedules allow for indoor and outdoor social play time, student-led exploration and teacher-directed learning. Handwriting is taught and practiced, along with letter and number writing and recognition. Preschool 4 prepares children for Kindergarten with early reading and phonics. Daily Jesus time and chapel worship point students to Jesus and His love for them as His children.
Recipe for Success
Students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classes comprise our intermediate learners. Organization and study skills are taught and practiced with the goal of developing independent learners. We emphasize responsibility, respect and service for others. Religion focuses on Scripture memory, Bible story discussions and application to their lives. Sixth graders have the opportunity to lead chapel worship in the chapel band. Our high academic standards prepare students for Junior High and the rigors of secondary education.
JUNIOR HIGH EXPERIENCE
Preparing for High School
Our rigorous junior high facilitates future successes – in high school, college, and beyond. With high academic standards, students are challenged with engaging classroom work and projects. Our graduates are accepted into honors programs in local high schools. Besides academics, our seventh and eighth graders have opportunities to lead chapel worship, learn real-world technology skills and mentor our younger students. CLRS graduates consistently perform at a high level in high school, as noticed by Catholic High School teachers and administration, Central High School teachers and administration, and other Little Rock high schools as well.
